Parascript has partnered with Engineering Innovation, Inc. to provide optical character recognition software to Lake Michigan Mailers.  Lake Michigan Mailers has obtained a return on investment in no longer than six months.

Lake Michigan Mailers is using Engineering Innovation’s EZ-Flats OCR Lite system. It incorporates Parascript AddressScript CM as a single OCR engine. The solution achieves address recognition rates of 95 percent. It reads machine print and handwritten addresses.  The mailer uses EZ-Flats for the processing of about 20,000 flats per week, tracking each mail piece to its maximum discount level.
'We can’t say enough about The EZ-Flats system with Parascript’s AddressScript OCR and how it has helped us to grow our business, expand our processing capabilities and increase the markets we serve.  In the early days of automated mail we had to examine the specific items that needed to be processed before determining if the job could be done.  Now, with our integrated solution from Engineering Innovation and Parascript, we can rest assured that Lake Michigan Mailers can easily handle any job,” said David C. Rhoa, president of Lake Michigan Mailers, Inc.
“Understandably, businesses today are on the lookout for ways to do things better, faster and smarter to gain an edge.  Given the vast capabilities of our address recognition and interpretation technology, we are proud to work with Engineering Innovation to harness those competencies and bring higher read rates and accuracy to small and medium-sized mailers in a format that works well for them and that can have a powerful impact,” said Kaz Jaszczak, director of product planning and operations for Parascript.
