I.R.I.S. Morningstar, part of I.R.I.S. Group, has implemented a new ECM suite at Evides Water Company. I.R.I.S. is helping Evides Water Company with the implementation of the Open Text ECM Suite (previously known as Livelink).
The ECM suite structure will be redesigned with the use of complex metadata structures. In the future, workflow and records management will be implemented, so that knowledge management can also be used within the system. Evides is a Dutch water company which supplies drinking water in the provinces of Zuid-Holland, Zeeland, and Brabant. In 2001, the organization introduced a document management system which was based on Open Text Livelink, intending to eventually structure all documents within the company. However, metadata was not used. Due to the growing number of documents, the need to easily and quickly allocate a document became more obvious. In 2008, Evides concluded that the emphasis should be on knowledge management. Gerry van Meijel, Head of Document Management at Evides, said: "The cooperation with I.R.I.S. Morningstar is going well. It is clearly a professional organization with broad knowledge and experience. They are definitely the right people to support us during this rather complex – strategic reimplementation. By implementing the latest version of Livelink - the Open Text ECM Suite – we hope to increase the system’s user-friendliness thanks to the ability to more quickly and easily allocate information and documents that can now be organized more logically. The system should not only perform as an electronic archive but also mainly join in with and optimally support the company’s activities. The advice from I.R.I.S. Morningstar was to implement a new version of Livelink and immediately apply the content lifecycle management package." Related Articles:
