The Russian Center for Roentgeno – Radiology Research (RNCRR) in Moscow is using AccuDetect computer aided detection (CAD) software by Parascript. RNCRR is the largest and most recognized breast cancer oncology center in Russia.
Breast cancer is one of the most common forms of cancer in Russian women and it is one of the leading causes of cancer mortality. Only close to 60 percent of breast cancer is currently diagnosed at an early stage. Parascript AccuDetect contributes to better cancer detection and can significantly lower patient recalls through employing complementary algorithms combined with two technology approaches. One of the approaches detects suspicious lesions on the mammogram images. The other one utilizes sophisticated voting methods in order to combine the results from the algorithms. “As a premier medical institution specializing in early diagnostic and treatment of oncology diseases, RNCRR is dedicated to offering the most advanced technology to detect breast cancer earlier,” said Dr. Nadezha I. Rozhkova, professor of oncology at RNCRR. “Parascript AccuDetect is an invaluable addition to our center that will benefit patients from all over Russia.” Currently about 1,400 mammography acquisition stations are used in Russia from leading manufacturers including FujiFilm, General Electric and Siemens. “We look forward to continued adoption of our CAD solution in Russia and to a strong partnership with the renowned RNCRR,” said Yuri Prizemin, director of product marketing for Parascript. “We are committed to applying our image analysis technology to help radiologists detect breast cancers earlier and with lower false-positive rates.”
