Parascript has partnered with Engineering Innovation, Inc. to deliver its OCR software to Address N' Mail.  Address N' Mail will obtain discounts and greater efficiency when processing mail at the Melbourne, Florida facility. The company has obtained return on the investment in nine months.

Address N' Mail was using Engineering Innovation’s EZ-Flats OCR Lite. The system incorporates Parascript AddressScript CM and has achieved address recognition rates of 95 percent. EZ-Flats transport can process up to 1,000 flats per hour but it is also useful for mailers with smaller volumes.  EZ-Flats can track each mail piece to the maximum discount level.
Before it implemented Parascript’s AddressScript CM, the mailer had to manually feed mail and could not obtain the discounts. Now it has obtained a postal discount of $900 per week as well as a return on its investment within nine months.
“The EZ-Flats system with Parascript’s AddressScript OCR is absolutely the most cost-effective system for earning the maximum discounts on First Class Flats,” said Chuck Green, president of Address N' Mail. 'With discount on First Class Flats now as high as 46.6 cents, we can earn more on a weekly run of 4,000 mixed-weights flats than on 40,000 letters.”
AddressScript CM reads addresses automatically, reducing the time and labor associated with the mail processing.  It can capture entire flats images or address block images from the envelopes. The solution can read any character type, either cursive, handprint or machine print in any combination.
“At Engineering Innovations, we are always looking for ways to enhance our technology and offerings to increase efficiency in mail processing.  Parascript employs industry-leading technology, and we are happy to partner with the best to offer small mailers best-of-breed OCR technology.” said Ron Robbins, CEO of Engineering Innovations, Inc.
