Cranel Imaging will be distributing Nuance’s office productivity software. Through its network of value-added resellers, the company will sell PDF, scanning and document management desktop software by Nuance.
The agreement covers PDF Converter Professional, Nuance’s alternative to Adobe Acrobat; PaperPort, document management application; and OmniPage Professional, document conversion and Optical Character Recognition software for MS Windows. So far, Cranel has been distributing eCopy ShareScan, Nuance’s MFP (multifunction peripheral) scanning system. “We are confident Nuance’s paperless desktop solutions will be well-received by our VAR customers and their clients as a fast, effective way to improve office productivity,” said Scott Slack, vice president, marketing, Cranel Inc. “Cranel Imaging VARs have been selling Nuance’s market-leading eCopy ShareScan software for MFPs and scanners, and now can expand their market opportunities by also offering Nuance’s PDF and scanning solutions for the desktop.” Nuance solutions enable users to convert paper documents and PDF files into editable digital files, as well as to turn paper documents to searchable PDF files. “Nuance PDF products are designed specifically to increase document productivity for office users,” said Robert Weideman, general manager for the Nuance Document Imaging Division. “Our product licensing makes it practical for organizations to put the power of PDF on every desktop. Nuance is unique in delivering all the rich features people want and need in a desktop PDF, but at a price that is a fraction of Adobe’s.” More information is available at http://nuance.com.
