Aurora Health Care, a not-for-profit health care provider, has implemented the form processing software FormXtra Enterprise by Parascript. This enables Aurora Health Care to process automatically 100,000 flu consent forms in two months achieving recognition rates of over 80 percent.
Aurora Health Care was able to save $25,000 in one year after the investment. “We are very pleased with the results achieved with Parascript’s FormXtra Enterprise,” said JoAnn Smith, manager system billing for Aurora Health Care. “Not only were we able to automate the labor-intensive and error-prone process of recognizing and keying in information on flu consent forms, but we have also seen significant savings after only a few months.”
The health care provider receives around 100,000 flu consent forms each season. These forms consist of different field types including first and last names, address, voucher number, date of birth, as well as check boxes. The form processing software recognizes the handwritten fields even when located in non-standard positions. “Parascript’s unique ability to read difficult text like handwriting gives our customers cost savings advantages over their competitors,” said Brian Ball, vice president for Parascript. “FormXtra Enterprise offers a complete forms processing workflow, and enables organizations to achieve immediate savings on tough-to-process forms.”
