I.R.I.S. Group has implemented a document management platform at Industeel Belgium (IB). IB is a subsidiary of the ArcelorMittal group, specialized in advanced technology carbon steel, alloy and stainless steel plates.

           The company has 1,100 employees - specialists who need access to up‐to‐date information for their work. “Our technical documentation consists of more than 2,000 references, but is disparate and ill‐assorted”, says Patrick Maigre, Industeel’s Quality Management Engineer. “Everyone was documenting production and maintenance operating methods at a local level, but not paying enough attention to centralizing the information. Which is a shame, because more rational document management allows big economies of scale, and stops everyone having to constantly reinvent the wheel.”
            Industeel’s aim was to centralize the documentation in order to simplify the distribution and improve the accessibility of the information. In this way everyone within the company can consult it using keywords, and create a validation workflow in order to ensure the quality of the published information. “For these three requirements, I.R.I.S. proposed I.R.I.S. DocCenter™, a well‐balanced solution. The validation workflow, for example, is adapted to our needs without being too complex”, states Patrick Maigre.
            “The fact that I.R.I.S. is not a simple software vendor, but rather a genuine integrator has allowed us to find a response adapted to our needs. It was another deciding factor when making the choice”, concludes Patrick Maigre.
