Parascript, LLC, provider of image analysis and pattern recognition technology, has announced the release of AccuDetect 3.0, the latest version of the computer-aided detection (CAD) software.

The solution offers improved performance, including higher sensitivity and lower false-positive rates, when it detects suspicious lesions on mammograms, in comparison to the previous version. The product provides CAD for film and digital-based mammography systems. In addition, it is now designed to work with full field digital and computed radiography vendors. The system was tested with leading CAD providers and is with improved sensitivity and lower false-positive rates, working with other CAD systems in a voting scheme.
“The vision behind Parascript’s AccuDetect 3.0 is to create the next generation CAD system with performance levels approaching those of a second radiologist.  It is only when CAD systems achieve sensitivity and false-positive rates approaching those of a radiologist that they will be embraced worldwide as an effective second opinion tool,” said Yuri Prizemin, director of product marketing for Parascript.
Parascript’s AccuDetect 3.0 has the ability to compare the results of multiple image recognition processes. This allows for the mitigation of inherent faults of the recognition processes which results in reduced false-positive and false-negative rates.
The system integrates a number of proprietary algorithms and voting methods for efficient detection of suspicious lesions on the mammograms.
