Prime Recognition has announced an upgrade of its optical character recognition software product PrimeOCR. The new version integrates new OCR engines to bring increased accuracy to the recognition results. PrimeOCR 5.0 supports Windows 7, features email notifications and improvements to the PDF processing.

             PrimeOCR is an OCR engine and API (Application Programming Interface) toolkit which uses proprietary “Voting” algorithms and technology. PrimeOCR can reduce the overall OCR processing costs by reducing the number of errors generated from OCR.
             New features of PrimeOCR 5.0:
                 • Improved Accuracy - By implementing statistical voting technology, PrimeOCR features improved OCR accuracy in comparison to traditional OCR engines.
                  • Support for Windows 2007 - The latest version of PrimeOCR supports Microsoft's latest OS. 
                  • Email/Text Notifications – The new version features options to send automated email or text notifications containing the job status, completion, statistics, etc.
                  • PDF Reading Improvements - PrimeOCR 5.0 includes enhancement to the PDF input module for improved reading of images from PDF files.
                  • Job Server Updates - The Job Server user interface now provides additional job and image processing options, such as estimated job completion time.
