Accusoft Pegasus, provider of imaging software development kits (SDKs), has announced ScanFix Xpress Version 6. The software development kit enables color and grayscale document image cleanup, as well as black and white document image cleanup.

          The solution ensures enhanced image quality and prepares the images for optical character recognition processing. It also improves the recognition accuracy, and creates compressed files with small size.
           ScanFix Xpress v6 introduces color and grayscale image cleanup to document imaging and forms processing application developers, according to Rick Scanlan, director of sales engineering at Accusoft Pegasus. “Most production scanners today provide a color scanning option. While storage has become fairly economical, color images still require considerably more storage space than black and white images. ScanFix Xpress can reduce compressed file sizes and make a significant improvement on OCR, ICR or forms processing activities.”
           The new SDK features new color and grayscale image processing features, such as automatic color detection, automatic binarization, brightness and contrast adjustment, color drop, image detergent, and others. ScanFix Xpress v6 enables software engineers to build applications for 64-bit and 32-bit Windows .NET architectures. The SDK is optimized for use in Visual Studio 2005 and 2008, and compliant for use in .NET Framework 2.0 and higher.
