Accusoft Pegasus has announced updates to its product ImageGear for Silverlight v17. The software development kit (SDK) now features support for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010. This will enable developers to speed up the coding process and target more platforms, such as Windows Azure.

ImageGear for Silverlight is a comprehensive Silverlight imaging SDK, which enables operation even when offline. The SDK features a fast display engine with image processing. It allows the implementation of a single interface which enables users to view a very wide variety of image file types which include raster files, e.g. TIFF, JPEG and Camera RAW.

Accusoft Pegasus’ simultaneous release of ImageGear for Silverlight v17.3 enables developers to take advantage of the latest features in Visual Studio 2010, said Doug Seven, senior product manager, Visual Studio at Microsoft Corp. “Microsoft is excited about the opportunity this creates for our mutual customers to unleash their creativity using the powerful features of the ImageGear for Silverlight v17.3 product and Visual Studio 2010.”

The new update is featured in the current version of ImageGear as a service pack. Users may watch a video tutorial and try a Silverlight image viewer running on Windows Azure online at www.accusoft.com/ig-sldemo.htm.
