Pegasus Imaging Corporation, provider of digital imaging technology, recently announced the release of PICVideo Version 4 for M-JPEG video compression and decompression.
This version features the first Motion JPEG video codec which has been optimized for performance on 64-bit Windows systems.
PICVideo is appropriate for viewing Motion JPEG files, for example such that are captured with cell phones or digital cameras, using Windows Media Player. The codec is also used in applications for video editing as it describes each frame completely. The PICVideo M-JPEG Codec is the only available codec which is optimized for both 64-bit and 32-bit operating systems.
“Because of its speed and features, our PICVideo codec is the ultimate addition for any company migrating their video viewing and editing products to 64-bit Windows systems,” says Paul Firth, product manager at Pegasus Imaging.
PICVideo v4 adds a feature which makes it possible to detect whether a user has English, Spanish, German, French, or Japanese language pack installed. The configuration screen is then displayed in the user’s preferred language and localized pages are suggested for purchasing a license.
Organizations may license PICVideo codecs to distribute with their products. More information and trial versions can be found at www.accusoft.com/picvideo.htm.
