Accusoft Pegasus, the provider of viewers and imaging software development kits (SDKs), has announced ImageGear Professional v17 for Windows DLL.
The product includes full-page OCR support and supports creating searchable compressed PDF documents.
Developers can use ImageGear Professional v17 to create applications that can perform optical character recognition, turn scanned document images into smaller searchable PDFs, and compress individual page regions to produce a searchable PDF. The latest version supports OCR for more than 120 languages.
"ImageGear Professional is a great one-stop shop, suite of imaging functionality. Application developers can now use ImageGear Professional to gain access to an even wider breadth of imaging support, cleanup operations and OCR text recognition than ever before," said Steve Wilson, Director, Native Core Imaging. "Additional added value includes the ability to automatically redact confidential and sensitive information, such as social security numbers or credit card numbers." The SDK offers a 40 percent increase in JPEG 2000 decompression. Other new features are a Camera RAW file support library, updates to the DICOM Data Dictionary as well as updated PDF library support. ImageGear Professional v17 provides improved product documentation and samples to make it easier for starters.
