Accusoft Pegasus has released the Barcode Xpress v6 SDK, which providies new support for 64-bit applications. With Barcode Xpress SDK software engineers are able to automate workflows, easily index documents, and integrate into their applications barcode reading and writing.
The toolkit is available for AnyCPU .NET and for 32-bit or 64-bit ActiveX development. Barcode Xpress v6 provides developers with the ability to build applications which target both 64-bit and 32-bit architectures. The .NET components included in the SDK are compiled as AnyCPU. The toolkit includes sample programs for Visual Studio 2005 and 2008. It is also compliant for use in .NET Framework 2.0 and higher. The ActiveX components in the SDK are available for 32-bit or 64-bit application development. The SDK also features additional improvements to 2D barcode recognition accuracy, including DataMatrix. The latest version directly supports barcode recognition within color and grayscale images. Barcode Xpress enables accurate reading and writing of 1D barcodes including Code 128 and Code 39, as well as error-correcting 2D barcodes such as PDF417, QR Code, and DataMatrix. This software development kit locates single and multiple instances of barcodes on a page, decodes them, and returns the content with confidence values. It is supported in various development environments, such as .NET, ActiveX/COM, Java, and Java ME, for mobile applications. Paul Firth, Product Manager for Accusoft Pegasus, commented, “With this release, we’ve opened the door for our customers to deliver world-class barcode reading on all Windows platforms, taking full advantage of 64-bit multi-core servers that are today’s document processing workhorses. We continue to offer solutions for Linux, Unix, and mobile platforms. All of them enable developers to add advanced barcode features to their applications with just a few lines of code.” Further information about Accusoft Pegasus imaging technology solutions is available at www.accusoft.com.
