Since VelOCRaptor is a much more inexpensive version of OCR I thought I would give it a go. What is the dpi necessary to get good results? Can you use 300 dpi or do you need to be at 600 dpi?

300 dpi should do it. In fact that's definitely what you need with this software. You don't need higher, but I don't think you can go lower and have the best results.

It sounds like you have experience with velOCRaptor? Can I ask another question? Is it no click and how does it do with screen capture?

It does have a no click feature. It doesn't do great with screen grabs, but it does have a protocol which can make a screen grab work.

ok, i googled it and you are right. There is a procedure to make screen grabs more doable. Thanks for the advice!! I'm glad I found this forum.
