ABBYY has announced PDF Transformer 3.0, the latest version of the popular application for PDF conversion and creation. PDF Transformer 3.0 can re-create the logical structure, the text flow and the formatting of the documents when converting PDFs.
It also delivers more features for PDF editing and archiving such as the ability to redact sensitive information and to add specific attributes in the files (e.g. stamps and bates stamps), to compress PDF files and produce documents in searchable PDF/A format. PDF Transformer can convert any type of PDF files into editable documents in 184 languages. It is integrated with Microsoft Office applications to enable PDF conversion and creation from within the applications with a single click. Some of the improvements in the new version include: Preserves the Document Structure and Formatting When converting PDF to MS Word or Excel, PDF Transformer 3.0 re-creates the logical structure and formatting of the documents. The application treats multipage documents as single entity, which allows the reproduction of MS Office formatting attributes (e.g. headers, footers, footnotes, fonts, styles, page numbering, and captions to images) so that users can easily edit the resulting document. Document Combining and Appending PDF Transformer 3.0 features advanced functionality for PDF creation and modifying. Multiple documents can be easily combined into a single PDF document, and the new file can be appended to an already existing PDF without having to rework the document. MRC Compression and PDF/A Support The software features new capabilities for optimizing PDF files for sharing and archiving. Office documents and image-only PDF files can be converted to searchable PDF/A format (recommended for long-term preservation). The size of a PDF can be reduced up to 10 times in order to preserve storage space. Stamping and Bates Stamping With PDF Transformer users can mark and identify copyrighted documents by adding customized stamps. The bates stamping feature allows identification and protection of valuable documents. ABBYY Screenshot Reader for Registered Users Registered users can also benefit from ABBYY Screenshot Reader, a tool for capturing images and text from the screen. Screenshot Reader uses OCR technology to convert snippets of screenshots into text.
