Nuance Communications has announced the new dictation application Dragon for Email for BlackBerry smartphones. The product enables BlackBerry users to speak their emails when creating, forwarding, or replying to a message and is now available for free for a short period of time on the BlackBerry App World for several smartphones.
“The recent success of the Dragon Dictation App has produced an overwhelming response from the BlackBerry community and its huge customer base,” said Michael Thompson, senior vice president and general manager, Nuance Mobile. “BlackBerry is the ultimate mobile device for consumers and professionals who need to be able to read and respond to emails no matter where they are. With Dragon for Email, we’re now able to enhance the email capabilities that make the BlackBerry smartphone so incredibly popular.” The latest application by Nuance transcribes spoken words instantly. Users can speak their email and will see how their message appears on the screen of the smartphone. The product is integrated into BlackBerry Email so that users may use their voice to enter contact names, subject lines, or full messages. The Dragon for Email app is now available for free in the United States only for a limited time on the BlackBerry Storm and BlackBerry Storm2 on the Verizon Wireless network; BlackBerry App World for the BlackBerry Tour, the BlackBerry Bold series and BlackBerry Curve series on the AT&T Wireless network; and, the BlackBerry Curve series and the BlackBerry Bold on the T-Mobile network.
