Nuance Communications introduced Nuance PDF Converter Professional 6, which is the latest release of the company’s desktop PDF solution. Nuance aimed to offer a cheaper alternative to Adobe Acrobat – a software application that delivers the same features for creating, editing, converting and sharing PDF for much lower price.
The new product is intended to help save office workers time, reduce costs, and accelerate green office initiatives. The new features in PDF Converter Professional 6 include the option to drag and drop various file types into a PDF, as well as the ability to automatically renumber pages and edit headers and footers within the newly created PDF document. The new PDF Auto-Pilot feature allows the users to perform multiple editing tasks with a single click. PDF Converter Professional 6 also allows paper documents to be scanned directly to PDF, eliminating the need to convert the images after scanning. PDF files can be made searchable or converted to fully-formatted Microsoft Word or Excel documents, using Nuance’s optical character recognition software, OmniPage, built into PDF Converter Professional 6. Microsoft SharePoint has been integrated in the Enterprise version of the product, making content management easier. PDF Converter Professional also offers support for XFA forms, which are XML-enabled dynamic Web forms. Related Articles:
