ABBYY, the provider of document recognition, capture, and linguistic technologies, has announced the new release of FineReader Express Edition for Mac.
The product is compatible with Apple® Mac OS® X v. 10.7 Lion.
ABBYY FineReader Express Edition for Mac is based on the company’s recognition technologies. The software application converts scanned paper documents, PDF files, as well as digital camera images into fully searchable and editable files, while at the same time preserving the formatting and layout of the original document.
ABBYY’s optical character recognition software for Mac is capable of recognizing text in about 170 and can also process multilingual documents that contain up to three languages. The solution re-creates all graphics, tables, columns, bullets and numbering from the original document. FineReader Express Edition for Mac can also convert image-only and scanned PDF documents into searchable PDF format.
ABBYY FineReader Express Edition for Mac is now available via ABBYY’s online store and the Mac App Store. Users can upgrade from previous versions free of charge by downloading the update. For additional information, please go to http://www.abbyy.com/finereader_for_mac.
