Accusoft Pegasus, the provider of document viewers and image recognition software development kits (SDKs), has announced Prizm PDF Converter, a solution for PDF conversion that allows users to reduce costs for software licensing required for processing various documents.

The tool can create Adobe PDF documents from more than 300 file formats such as Microsoft Office, HTML, AutoCAD, and text files.

Instead of having several points of entry that are specific to each different document type, organizations can transform workflows by standardizing on PDF into a single management interface for all document types. Prizm PDF Converter is java-based and can be linked from any page or embedded into any application for single conversion or batch processing. The product is easily integrated into web applications and DMS to increase productivity by enabling multiple conversions simultaneously.

"In order to streamline our customers processes, a PDF converter must not only be multi-threaded, but also support online conversion from over 300 file formats, without requiring file format support software or print drivers to be loaded onto the desktop or a distributed server," said Prateek Kathpal, Vice President, Viewing Product Strategy at Accusoft Pegasus. "The Prizm PDF Converter not only meets all of those requirements, but also creates high fidelity PDFs that preserve all of the graphics and formatting from the original documents."

With Prizm PDF Converter, companies can transform all their content into searchable and indexable PDF documents using a common framework. Additionally, customers can use Prizm Content Connect, the company’s thin client AJAX document viewer, in conjunction with Prizm PDF Converter, to enable the members within a single organization to collaborate, share, and secure information in converted documents.
