ABBYY, one of the leading providers of document recognition and data capture software, has announced that ABBYY FineReader 10 Corporate Edition is now available.  This is the newest version of ABBYY’s optical character recognition software designed for small and medium-sized businesses.

The new edition features all the technologies and functions available in ABBYY FineReader 10 Professional, as well as a number of additional workgroup and network capabilities.   It allows corporations to add optical character recognition functionally to every computer and save time spent on working with documents, as well as to streamline the processes of document conversion, digitizing and archiving.
ABBYY FineReader 10 Corporate Edition comes with licenses that can be shared among multiple users, which saves a lot of money for the organizations. It allows for automatical installation from the server to multiple workstations within a local network. In addition, it features a “Hot Folder” tool which monitors folders, subfolders and mailbox folders in the network and processes documents according to predefined rules. Additionally, processing time for each task can be set up individually for an efficient use of the company’s hardware resources. When converting large amounts of documents, the workload can be distributed between several workstations in the network by dividing the different steps of the OCR process.
The new corporate edition includes ABBYY’s latest technologies. Thanks to ABBYY ADRT (Adaptive Document Recognition Technology), it recreates the logical structure of multi-page documents to represent complex formatting attributes such as tables of contents and hierarchical heading structures. With the ABBYY Camera OCR technology, images can be acquired not only via scanners and digital cameras but also with mobile phone cameras. FineReader 10 Corporate Edition also optimizes the size of PDF files by reducing it up to ten times while at the same time preserving the visual quality of the documents, thus saving valuable storage space. The converted files can be saved directly to MS SharePoint libraries in the supported electronic formats.
