PC Magazine named ABBYY FineReader 10 Professional the Editor’s Choice, and awarded the application a score of 4.5 out of 5. The highlighted features which set FineReader apart from the competition included user-friendliness, high accuracy of the optical character recognition results, as well as the new, comprehensive interface.

According to PC Magazine, ABBYY FineReader 10 is especially efficient when dealing with pages that are hard to read and recognizing text, tables and images. FineReader 10’s Screenshot Reader is described as very helpful in enabling users to extract text content from a scanned image in web browsers. The new interface of the program was found to be very intuitive, making it easy for users to find all the necessary options for performing complex OCR tasks.
FineReader 10 is the latest version of the professional optical character recognition solution by ABBYY which delivers OCR functionality to small and middle-sized businesses. The application delivers ABBYY’s Adaptive Document Character Recognition (ADRT) and Camera OCR Technologies, making it possible for users to perform OCR tasks on digital and mobile phone camera images. ABBYY  FineReader 10 supports 186 languages and recognizes multi-language documents.
“Document management is becoming a challenge for organizations as they generate increasingly high volumes of data and documentation,” said Dean Tang, CEO of ABBYY USA. “FineReader 10 was designed to make the transition away from paper environments easy and manageable. PC Magazine’s recognition of this solution as their Editor’s Choice validates the direction we have taken and assures users they are getting the very best in OCR technology.”
