Many people are frustrated with sophisticated optical character recognition applications, especially if they are new to this type of software.

Professional OCR programs typically provide a list of advanced settings for more advanced users, which however, can be quite confusing for the beginner.

With SmartOCR, you can perform optical character recognition in just a few clicks without having to worry about complex settings. While offering professional results, SmartOCR features a very simple and convenient design. Additionally, you can set the software to perform almost any operation automatically.

From within the application window, go to Image -> Settings from the Main Menu. Click the Load tab. From here, you can set the software to perform automatic rotation on documents to their proper orientation, detect and analyze the text regions and perform recognition. So, once you scan or import a document, Smart OCR will rotate, detect and recognize it without anything else on your part.

From the Load tab, you can also specify your default scanner driver, in case you are using multiple devices.

From the Save tab, you can set SmartOCR to automatically detect your document size, PDF export mode (if your document contains text and images, and adjust the image quality.
